Lettered Lives: Crafting Voice from the Streets
This project explores the hand-painted shop signs of South Asia and Africa, Bold, imperfect, and full of character. Growing up in Delhi, I was surrounded by their vibrant colours and uneven letterforms, a visual language shaped by labour, place, and identity. For this post, I designed a custom typeface inspired by these signs are a tribute to handmade imperfection and the voices often overlooked in formal design.
